Retinopathy
Retinopathy encompasses a group of eye conditions related to damage of the retina's blood vessels. Diabetic retinopathy, associated with prolonged diabetes, is a prominent example. This particular type of retinopathy, simulated below, could cause black spots/dark floaters in the patient’s vision. Diabetic retinopathy could affect both central and peripheral vision.
Refractive
Errors
For young children who experience severe vision impairment at an early age, and left without sight correction, their development in areas such as language, social and cognitive abilities such as reading, can be delayed. Even school-age children with vision impairment may experience lower-levels of academic success.
