Retinopathy
Refractive Errors:
Myopia, Hyperopia, &
Presbyopia
Refractive errors are ocular conditions affecting the eye's ability to focus light accurately on the retina, resulting in blurred vision. Myopia, or nearsightedness, causes distant objects to appear unclear. Hyperopia, or farsightedness, affects close-up vision. Presbyopia, an age-related condition, diminishes the eye's ability to focus on close objects. Corrective measures, such as glasses or contact lenses, could help address these refractive errors.
AMD
Reading is a very complex cognitive process that humans have only developed around 5,000 years ago, with the first recorded written language from 3,500 BCE, such as this cylinder seal created by the Sumerians.
